Sunday, December 5th, 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
On December 5, 1921, a head-on train collision near the Creek Road Bridge killed 27 passengers and crew members and injured 70 others. Learn more about this catastrophe on the 100-year anniversary that led the Interstate Commerce Commission to recommend major changes in passenger railcar construction during a 45-minute presentation in the Church Hall at The Lord’s New Church. Then take a 2-mile hike guided to the crash site and back led by David Rowland. Hike includes a stretch of Montgomery County’s new flat and level Pennypack Trail.
